About “KYOTO NIPPON FESTIVAL 2026”
Founded in 2016, KYOTO NIPPON FESTIVAL has been sharing Japan’s beauty and culture with the world from Kyoto.
Held annually at the historic Kitano Tenmangu Shrine, the festival presents a wide variety of cultural programs.
In 2026, the festival celebrates its 10th anniversary with the participation of artist Mika Ninagawa, the creative team EiM, and Hiroaki Miyata, producer of the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai theme projects.
In addition, immersive performances in collaboration with the dance company DAZZLE will be held.
*Please note: The immersive performance by DAZZLE is not included in this plan.
Artwork Description
Set within the iconic spaces of Kitano Tenmangu Shrine, Mika Ninagawa with EiM expresses Kyoto’s sense of “tranquility and brilliance” through light and shadow.
For the first time, this installation merges art with living plants growing in the Plum Garden.
The ever-changing scenery of the plum blossoms and artworks that transform with natural light blend together, creating an experience as if the artwork itself is breathing.
Visitors are invited into an immersive space where nature, people, and art become one, inspiring a deep appreciation for the uniqueness of each moment and the irreplaceable nature of time.

• The event will be held rain or shine.
• The ticket for the immersive theater “Fugetsuden <Hanayoi Grand Tea Gathering>” is not included.
If you wish to attend, please apply separately on your own (additional fee required).
• After viewing the Plum Garden under this plan, the final reception time for the immersive theater will have ended.
Depending on the program, available dates and times may be limited, so please check in advance on your own.
• If you choose not to participate in part of the program for personal reasons, it will be regarded as a waiver of your rights and no refunds will be given.
Please arrive at the meeting place with sufficient time. Even if you do not arrive by the meeting time, the program will begin as scheduled.
