Yudofu has been popular since ancient times on the approach to Nanzenji Temple in Kyoto.
We will preserve and pass on the yudofu culture rooted in Kyoto and traditional Kyoto culture, and pass on the happiness of people through food to future generations while incorporating culture that is now born in a new era.
The nationally registered tangible cultural property “Junsei Shoin,” which was built in Tenpo 10 (1839), and the famous garden that shows seasonal expressions, are spaces where you can forget the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
This Junsei Shoin is also described in the Kyoto guidebook at the end of the Edo period, and is currently carefully used as a Kyo-kaiseki guest room.
In the Kyoto guidebook, it is written that “Tangoya's yudofu is a specialty since ancient times, and travelers always enjoy it...”
You can see that Nanzenji's yudofu was famous around this time.
At Junsei, you will enjoy flavourful tofu made from carefully produced domestic soybeans and a specially made yudofu sauce that brings out the full flavor.
The sweetness of tofu itself and the bitterness of soybeans that linger in the aftertaste. Please enjoy the famous yudofu made from domestically produced soybeans, which have different flavors, with a special sauce.
