The Yamahoko Parade, beautifully adorned with decorations, is also called a "moving art museum."
Join the preservation society and local community members in pulling the Minami Kannon Yama float, resonating the Gion festival music through the summer sky as you parade through Kyoto's summer streets.
The "Tsujimawashi" (corner turning) at intersections is a unique experience you can only have here.
《Minami Kannon Yama》
Minami Kannon Yama, also known as "Kudari Kannon Yama," enshrines ”Yoryu Kannon” as its main deity, who saves people from the suffering of illness.
"Zenzai Doji" is enshrined as an attendant. It parades with luxurious decorations and its symbolic willow branches hanging down.

※To preserve festival traditions, participation is limited to men aged 18-50. Women and children cannot participate.
※Guidance will be provided in Japanese only.
※The viewing seats for the Yamahoko Parade on 7/24 are not included.

■After gathering, we will prepare with changing clothes and explanations. The parade is scheduled to start around 9:30.
■We will provide the necessary clothing for participating in the parade.
■We will provide tabi socks, so please enter your foot size when booking.
■A bento lunch will be provided after the parade.
■The Yamahoko Parade will be held rain or shine.
■There's a possibility you may not be able to participate in the float-pulling experience due to sudden local circumstances. In such cases, a refund will be provided.
■The event time may change on the day. Please be aware of this possibility.
■Please follow staff instructions during the experience.
■As it can be very hot, please take care of your health by staying hydrated.
■There won't be time for breakfast after gathering, so please have breakfast before arriving at the meeting place.
