Hand-painted Uchikake workshop where everything from dyeing to finishing is done in a single workshop

Kimonos are produced by artisans with specialized skills through division of labor.

It is a traditional craft that Japan is proud of the world, with fabric passing from hand to hand by craftsmen in various fields, and completed by layering various techniques everywhere they go.

“Miyake Craft,” located in Ukyo-ku, Kyoto Prefecture, is an unrivaled hand-painted craft workshop that performs these tasks, which are originally carried out by division of labor, in a single workshop. The process from dyeing the white fabric to applying decorations to turning it into fabric is carried out with the excellent techniques of a small number of elite craftsmen, and a beautiful finish is finished as imagined.

You will be able to visit such a one-of-a-kind workshop and experience “gold color crafts.”
