Makiage-shibori apron Course Activity

Bokun ID:
936333
Product Code:

Using the traditional makiage-shibori technique, patterns are created by tying areas of the cloth (apron) with string and then dyeing the cloth while applying pressure so that the dye does not permeate to the areas where pressure was applied. The cloth is dyed a single color. After the cloth is drawn together in folds of the same width or folded into bellows, it is tied with string and dyed. This technique is comparatively simple for even beginners to do. Because the appearance of the white (undyed) areas differs depending on how the folds are aligned and the string tied, choosing which areas of cloth to dye provides an opportunity to show off your skill. The apron is free size. Select a color from 20 rich hues. Create your very own original tie-dyed apron!
