【For those who are unfamiliar with the term "Maiko"...】
A Maiko is a young apprentice Geiko (also referred to as a Geisha) exclusive to the Kyoto region. They don intricately designed kimono, glamorous hairstyles adorned with distinctive hairpieces, and captivating makeup indicated by the trademark white face paint amidst contrasting red and black accents. Maiko are required to undertake strenuous training in traditional Japanese arts which include dance, music, and the tea ceremony, alongside mastering the art of conversation, social etiquette, and hospitality. Generally, Maiko entertain guests at teahouses and banquet halls while they hone their skills and cultivate their own unique style before entering the world of the Geiko (Geisha).
